Default RE: How to seal trim

ORIGINAL: njrcflyer

I have just been finishing a beautiful ARF called the Crossfire. To prevent the trim from coming loose in the future I am looking for some suggestions on what is the best way to seal the seams. The coverning is OraCover. I have been thinking of using clear polyurathean varnish.
I would like to know what has worked by others.
Thank you.

Oil base polyurethane WILL YELLOW in about 6 months. Water base polyurethane will not yellow, HOWEVER, it is fuel RESISTANT (not fuel proof ) WITH THE FOLLOWING CAVEATS: 1. Do not expose the finish to any exhaust residue for a MINIMUM of 7 days. 2. Do not let the residue remain on the finish for more than 4 hours. After 4 hours the poly will begin to soften up.

If you want a fuel proof finish I suggest Ultracote clear.
