Default RE: Ryobi Conversions for the Aussies

ORIGINAL: Mark in AUS

OK I've spoken to the Talon dealer I know and he told me although Talon and Homelite are very similar they are not the same. Some parts are interchangeable with the mentioned motors but not sure if a Homelite conversion kit would fit the Talon.
Interesting. Unfortunately I have more engines than I can realistically use at the moment and won't be buying a Talon just to compare parts.

Does your Talon dealer know anything about the GMC engines, they are also VERY similar to the Homelites?

The Ryobis, based on my limited exposure to them, then to be more powerful than the Homelite engines.

As an aside, I found the 30cc Homelite to be less powerful (rpm-wise) than the 25cc simply because the exhaust porting differs so much. More testing and measuring required, if/when I get time to do it.
