I'm using the 3154 and it works well. I must admit, it does get warm even just sitting there when I make adjustments and the battery is plugged in. As far as I can recall it is rated for 6V. Don't have the box in front of me now, but I would't have bought it if it was't rated 6V. Let's see how long it lasts....
