Thanks for the input. We've tried out this motor and with the 4 cell pack on this small car, it gets going about the right speed, but it's even a little fast, so I don't really think that we need to upgrade the motor. The main deal with this competition is that it has to go straight, no necessarily fast. I thought about a bigger motor, but I think that it would make the car go too fast and make it a bit squirley.

I'd try and see if i could get a bigger motor on there the car won't suffer from the power/weight issues as much,

I'd probably use an RC car motor and mount the prop on there the mubachi motor is alot stronger and faster. More resistant to crashes as well. if you hot melt glue the prop to the end of a motor it will come off it stalled.
