Is there any thing you can think of that would roll straighter than that truck?

Your brother is likely going to smoke the competition. Oh and those other kids aren't going to like the fact that you have a spare Futaba 401 gyro controlling a digital servo steering the front wheels to the car either. Adjust the delay to compensate for the cracks in the floor.
I think you get the idea....
I helped my step-daughter build a solar powered hydrogen gas generator for her science fair project this year. We made some great gas bubbles but had a hard time concentrating the gas in any usable quantity. We both had fun though, she got 3rd place (she was robbed in my opinion, as a kid testing Vitamins won the whole thing)
As far as rubber power goes, my 1st heli ever was a scratch-bulit rubber powered rig that used gears and axles from a slot car to power the rotor. It even had a belt driven tail rotor (Man, I was some pioneer back then huh???) Did'nt have a clue about rotor dynamics and of course the thing never even flew, learned a lot of hobby related skills though. That same year I had my 1st real helicopter ride as my Dad had a skeet shooting buddy who owned an Air service and he landed a Bell 47 in our front yard (huge yard too) Saw the neighborhood real good from above and will never forget that 5 minute ride.
Well its great that your brother has someone to guide him along, maybe he'll become a wiz-bang engineer one day and invent something that will benefit all of mankind. We will all benefit indirectly from your helping him out with this project. Ya never know....
Best of luck to ya'
