The pico stick is great in the backyard. I used mine in the gymnasium last year and this is technically the first plane I soloed. Although I wouldn't say to learn on the pico then go buy a glow and forget the trainer. I learned on the pico in the gym then was able to solo my 60 size glow trainer after a few tanks and 2 evening with an instructor. Also the pico takes a quite a beating and keeps on going.
