Default RE: What are you using for a tail skid?

hrm, I like that J hook. Thanks for the pic!

My biggest problem is with the new dual tail holder there is no place to attach something like the CF rod or a J hook. That's what I was wondering about.... how do you hook something like that to the boom when the tail motor mount doesn't have a place to stick something like a CF rod in it?

Robo, sounds like you had quite the impression from when you were young. That would be really cool to have a heli land in your front yard and take you for a flight. I remember when I was in grade school I got to go to an even for the gifted and talented, and they had a military chopper there. They were giving rides out, and I was the next in line, and then they called it off for some reason (some said it was the weather, but I don't remember the weather being bad).

I think he is gona smoke the rest of them =P and they are not gona have a chance with a rubber band powered car. We tested this one tonight, and it will go for the whole length we had (90 feet) within an 8 foot "track" so to speak.

LOL, yeah I had thought about doing something like that. I have a 16 bit PIC chip that I could easily interface with servo's and an HH gyro =) I didn't think that a 6th grader could come up with something like that though, and he would probably be disqualified =P

This project was really good for him because he's not real detail oriented and he learned alot of details about flight and building things, especially with the balsa wood =P
