I agree. I don't believe anyone can really learn to fly RC on those cheaper electric foamies. If you already know how to fly they can be fun. A Mini Ultra Stick or an electric Funtana with a good Lipo and brushless motor can be a handful and alot of fun for experienced pilots. Still believe hard to beat a good 40 or 60 glow trainer for mastering basic skills first. My 2 cents.
I would beg to differ. I believe with propper instruction someone can really learn to fly RC on those cheaper electric foamies. I am an instructor at my club and while I would not train a person to fly the PZ P-51 I would take someone out with a Megatech Freedom Flyer. Those planes come with 4 channel radios with Futaba style trainer ports on the back. I got 2 of them for my Dad and my Uncle for Christmas and sucessfully got them in the air and back to the ground. Then Hooked them up with the local club for further training and had to go back to work
