Default RE: Virginia Tech

Ya know, it's so sad - for the ones left behind. Culture shock 150%. Welcome to the real world, dear children. Wake-up call to harsh reality.

The boy/girlfriend you talked to not an hour earlier. The prom date what will never be. The son who will never graduate. The daughter who will never fill Mom's wedding dress. The children who will never be born. The phone message never answered. The argument never resolved. The "I love you" never said. "Bye, Mom" was REALLY final, I guess... So suddenly, so unexpectedly, so needlessly...the ones left behind - suffer the most, need us the most. It's final and can't be changed. The consequence of the action is permanent. The living must go on living and learn to cope. The grieving is not begun yet, everyone is still in shock. Counselors will be busy in the coming months. I hope the survivors can find some peace and sense in the midst of the carnage. The family of the shooter - what must be spinning through their minds? Their world is suddenly chaos.

Arrest people for their thoughts? Yes, it must be. Only thoughts are dangerous. Intent creates action. A gun without thought never killed anyone. Motive is in the mind.

"There's a killer on the road
His brain is squirming like a toad
Take a long holiday
Let your children play
If you give this man a ride
Sweet family will die...
Riders on the storm."

"Into this house we're born. Into this world we're thrown."

Cry for the children.
