Default RE: First flight on Axe CP...

Congratulations.

When I first started on this hobby and bought me an Axe CP I could hardly hold a hover. Lucky for you, you were able to hover for a minute. Mine couldn't even last a millisecond. I just keep on hopping and do the ever popular "chop stick" where when I panic I suddenly cut off the throttle making my heli slam on the ground hard. It took me awhile to get a steady hover and an accomplishment like that is very rewarding. An RC Flight simulator is a "must-have" if you want to save up money from spending on spare parts everytime you crash.

One thing to look for based on my past experience with this helicopter is that it has a weak swashplate. What I mean is that during the times I've been practicing with this helicopter, after repairing a damaged head I noticed that the swashplate bearings easily separates. I bought a new one at my LHS because I thought that I damaged the swashplate too. So when I was about to install the brand new swash plate I tried a rigidity test on it and surprisingly I got the same result. Swashplate bearings came loose and separated and we're talking about a brand new item here. So a word of caution...watch out for that. I not sure about the CNC swashplate since I never tried it, but from what I'm hearing from my LHS it's not that great and customers still prefers the stock ones.
