RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Ok went out for my second hover today and had a boo-boo. I think I may be ramping up my timeline for a new tx/rx to nowish. I hovered for a bit, landed to trim the tail, started to hover and got the dreaded full backward cyclic. After all was said and done i'll be installing that new tail boom, getting a new stabilizer set, and new tail servo.
So the question:
Heliproz suggests the "mid-range" Futaba 9CH or JR 9303, but they are way out of what i'm comfortable to spend right now, maybe in a year or so for that kind of $$$. I can afford the JR 6102 PCM or Futaba 7CHP now though. I'll hope to be doing some pretty serious 3D flying with both planes and heli's eventually. Will the 6102 or 7CHP pretty much cover anything I'm gonna want/need to do in the future with both planes and helis? If not, what won't they do that an expert might want them to? If they will, which is better, preferred, whatever?
So what do yall think, get the expensive stuff later and bear with crappy walkera tx/rx and crash some more, or get the still fairly expensive stuff now and save myself some hassle (and be able to program throttle curves)? I'm biased toward the now option.
EDIT: Did more looking at the JR vs. Futaba, and the diff is the JR is like $10 more and I think gets better reviews, and it seems the Futaba doesn't support sailplanes and dual channel trim mixing or something. I'll be using this with a sailplane, so.... I'm swinging toward the JR at this point. Comments?
