As an instructor I can tell you that this is absolutely true!!! There are many times that as soon as I taxi back in with one student I will have another one starting up and ready to go out. Since we don't have a set aside day for training I teach on regular flying days. I have one rule that I tell all of my students on these days. I always get one flight in before I start teaching. This usually isn't a problem because I try to show up at the field before anybody else is there, but when I don't my students understand and let me have a flight of my own first. Most of the time I will use my own flight as a training aid, I'll have the students come out with me as I fly and answer any questions they may have. Since I have my plane in the air already it's easy for me to use it to demonstrate what I am telling my students.
But to answer the original post, yes it helps in the learning process if a student can get out regularly day after day.
