My suggestion would be to pick up a cheap new or secondhand Tamiya TT-01 chassis for a start and see how it goes, you will always have to buy charger,batts, radio gear, esc, motor, shells, tyres whatever chassis you run so maybe try to find a cheap package deal on E-Bay, if you like drifting then you can sell the TT-01 chassis and keep the rest in a few months and buy something a bit better, I started with a £35 Tamiya TL-01 package.
If you dont like it then you can sell the whole lot and not lose too much money, you can pick up a new TT-01 with shell and light kit on E-Bay for about 60 quid, as for the charger and the rest, the sky is the limit
