Hey guys..just came inside from burnng thru the second battery......... What a glorious day! Little puffs of wind but mostly dead calm. I never hovered over 10 ft off the ground. Pretty solid and controlled thru the first battery, a little shakey twice on the second! I had a dog almost get the heli when it was about a foot off the ground........she got out past her owner and came up from behind. I think she missed the blades by less that 6 inches. I hit throttle hold and dropped it in the grass....and blocked her from getting close while the auto rotation spooled down. Close call!
Have to say.............. a great experience and I am loving the programmable radio, makes dialing in pitch curves and throttle curves so much easier than having to adjust pitch links to increase headspeed! Still no idle up programmed in, I just don't see a need for it with this heli....... all I want to do is hovering and slow FF so will just keep it the way it is. I will probably put the Futaba RX on the TREX and get better servos, then sell the DX6 and Dx RX on here of ebay. 5 pitch curves and throttle curves is the way to go I am thinking. Time will tell!
