RE: New AutoGyro
Hi Phil, The Whizard airplane specs are as follows (taken from the box): 40.75" wingspan, 204 sq. in. wing area, 22 ounces weight (with recommended .049-.074 engine and 1-3 channel radio). My twin rotor conversion (Magnum .15 engine) of the Whizard weighs 31 ounces, with mini servos and standard sized receiver, 250 ma battery, 4 oz. tank. It is 31" long with the .15 up front. I made the landing gear wire 2 inches longer (improves ground stance, prop clearance, and rotor spinup), the axles 3/8" longer, and use oversize wheels to walk over the grass. Steerable tail wheel added. I had to beef up the 1/8" tail surfaces with large triangular balsa at their roots. Charlie PS Look in my gallery for pix of my single rotor and dual rotor conversions. The Whizard uses sheet balsa construction. Very easy to build.
