The tail fin (vertical) is there to assist the gryo in holding the tail straight during fast forward flight. I don't see where it would affect the operation of the tail rotor. If the tail rotor is "sucking" it in...that might be of consern (too light/flimpsy) I'm using the vert stab that come with the superskids...no problem at all.

...........does the tail fin effect the tail rotor from doing it job?........
With the tail rotor on the right side of the boom I'm finding a tendency for the prop to "suck" the tail fin into a near strike.
I've heard that the DD tail with the prop on the left side alleviates that problem.
That said, I've found some of the plastic tail fins a mite flimsy for my taste so the installation of the new DD tail may help.
