RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!
Well,
Stayed up obscenely late installing my GWS DD unit....worst part was the debonding of the old stuff. Installation was a breeze.....burn't ma durn funger with that durn iron....such is the price we each must pay.
Does it fly.....?
By the light of car headlights, at 01:30 she attained flighthood once more....lot quieter now the motor ain't screaming it's tiny guts out.
Slightly smaller propeller diameter than standard I think. Heading lock is right on the money.
Just goes to show that setup is everything.....
When I opened my first heli, a cx-2, I took a long look at it. Yeah, they say that each one is test flown...don't know how mine got through. Lucky, I guess....just too durn inquisitive. Anyway, I set it up properly before I put volts to her and when she did become airborne the controlability was as it should be.
All that to say that the better the setup, the better the flying.
Even a stock Pro, properly set up, is a great flyer....mine was a little quirky for me 'til I added flybar weights but I rebuilt mine right out of the box just to get as good a setup as I could and installed a heading lock gyro.
She has no nasty habits and straight liftoff has not been a problem.....
Now she has Superskids, DD tail, CNC swashplate and two cnc heads in the jig (Micro heli and GWS). I would install the new drive gear with auto rotate but I've had such good luck with this machine that the only things I've busted is blades. She's waiting to bite me now I've said that....!
I went by the book and did the short hops getting longer thing slowly getting a feel for her....she is pretty neutral and doesn't like to be over driven.
She likes to go...this one is a great forward flyer. I ride a 900cc Triumph Trident but this little bugger can take you on a ride to take your breath away.
Back to the head links this weekend...:.....the mH links need easing a little....still too stiff and the GWS links have to be built.
Tried to get in touch with GWS as far as recommended lengths for links....no luck at all.
The dealers are great but technical support is a joke.
Think I gonna have to buy another airframe as a setup jig.......
Are helis considered community property.....??
