I have a raptor 50 titan with OS 50 Hyper in it. I bought the heli used and it already had this motor in it, ran great for about 10 flights then chip came out of piston and ring blew out glow plug and luckily I had time to auto and save my rappie. The new head, crank, piston and ring were so expensive I just bought a new motor. Destined to get this motor running right I checked out what everyone is saying on the forums on tuning and break-in. Today I was outside wringing her out and this is again about the 10th flight since I had replaced the motor and the motor just shut off, not enough room to auto and got a little damage($50.00) Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong with this motor It is driving me crazy!!
Motor Settings are as follows:
1. low end needle in the middle
2. high end needle at 1 1/2 turns out
3. 30% nitro morgan heli fuel
4. enya plug #3 i think (used to use OS#8 but someone told me this is a more reliable plug)
5. just replaced all the fuel line in the whole heli!
6. tempurature 160 degrees after 1940 head RPM run with 8.73:1 ratio @ 16930 Engine RPM about 5-10 minutes
I live in florida with altitude of 25' above sea level just in case someone wants to give needle setting suggestions.
