Yes, that would be correct as long as you want it to turn equally boat ways. Or you can put the rudder off to the side but it will turn better one way that the other. You can get the Stock Rudder for the aquajet from offshoreelectrics.com it will work perfect for your application. You only have to clear the prop by 1/4". I was amazed when I saw the aquajet for the first time. The rudder was so close to the prop I thought it would hit for sure. Here is a couple of pics of different set-ups. You are also going to need a longer shaft because the stock one is not going to be long enough.
