Would this work?
The only plane that I own is the typhoon 3d.
As you know the plane costs a little over $200 with the lipo set up
I want to get the feel for a different plane but like I said, I only have the typhoon and what it came with. I have no other radio or motors or ESC's or servos, and this is a very expensive hobby.
I have looked at ARF kits with everything I would need and the lowest price I came up with for a decent set up was close to $400
I'm trying to keep cost to a minimum so I was wondering if any of you think it is possible.
Would I be able to take the components from the typhoon (servos, receiver, transmitter, ESC, motor, & battery) and use it for an ARF model like an edge or an extra or the acromaster, or a yak, anything that is different than the typhoon with relatively the same weight.
I am assuming that in comparison to other gear out there the typhoons components are not as good quality as one would probably want, but its just too much money, and I have gotten hooked on flying and want to experience a different plane, for many reasons. One of them being that the typhoon will not hold a steady knife edge flight.
But I have also been told that the typhoon components are not interchangeable and that's why I ask if I can just take the entire electronic set up and put it in another plane.
In my opinion I have gotten pretty decent at flying 3d, and I think I'm ready to graduate to another model.
