What are the basic principles & methods to fly a Gasser?
Hi there all,
Though Im still flying glow engine planes which are 2 stroke and I have not yet purchased any 4 stroke engine and haven't experienced one. My question is What are the principles methods and ways to fly a gas airplane.
For instance like I have Edge 300 using Zenoah or ZDZ or 3W engine in it. Fuel is normal petroleum and it is added with synthetic oil? and are these engines mostly 2 strokes or in gassers 4 strokes engine are manufactured or not? These engines use spark plugs instead of glow plugs so no need of glow plug ignitor. These engines have ignition installed? ignition is activated by Tx which should be ofcourse I think more than 7 channel or is it activated manually? Does gas engine need priming? What is the purpose of choke? flowing the fuel into the engine? when to turn the choke on and when to close? besides a battery pack for receiver do we need another battery pack for ignition? Is it necessary to use high torque or digital servos or standard servos?
I wanna know that ofcourse 2 stroke or 4 stroke engines are easy to set up, just add fuel, use gloplug ignitor and start it, and do priming before starting and naturally set up the needle valve check rpm, nose up and take off. But These procedures don't seem to be required for giant gassers, naturally gassers suck up more money too, but not fuel wise, I wanna know completely about gassers. I don't know whether this topic is suitable for beginners forum but its for my knowledge and I wanna know it. I would like the senior flyers who are flying gassers their inputs and their experiences plus any website which may guide the complete setup of gas airplanes as well as turbine jet airplanes.
Thank you all in advance
