dutch, Weller makes a pencil type iron that comes with an Exacto style blade as one of the attachments. I bought one to give this method of covering removal a try. I like the idea of just touching the covering and have it melt without a chance of cutting the balsa underneath. I haven't been able to try it though; I lost the iron somewhere in this mess I call a house.
