It happens, I have an engine that you can tell it's accelerating too quickly, on ramping from zero to full, you get some unburnt fuel coming out the back, mini afterburner. In some cases, this could actually blow the fire out.

I've never heard of that on a P-120, but it's not completely unimaginable.
