David, Great posts. It just so happens that we are looking for a new flying site, and had planned on using a similar material that is used in agriculture sometimes reffered to as "Mole Mat" used to discourage critters from burrowing. One private runway is using tihs material over a compacted dirt and rolled layer of sand with good results. Very narrow at 17', by same width grass adjacent. Will be eagerly watching. Thanks, Cliff.
