RE: Alternative AXE CP parts
I just broke one of the legs under the Axe CP that hold the skids. I was hovering the thing nicely at the garden, one of the first times in two months I didn't break anything (so I though)....got in the house, bragging and happy wow I didn't break anything! Yeah right...just to find one of the legs (rear) that hold the skids broke in the middle. Sure, I can fix it with a piece of aluminum and a couple screws with nuts and some black paint....
But do they sell these legs (whatever they are called) anywhere already made of metal? I mean not the skids themselves, but the two pieces of plastic that hold the skids, that are hold to the frame with screws. I supose someone might have made them of aluminum already.
Even those screws have fallen off the helicopter at least three or four times. Last time it happened, I put some CA cement in the area where the screws go (between the plastic pieces) put the screws back, and nothing came loose anymore.
My swashplate ball bearing came down loose three or four times too, last time I took all that together to install that free spindle w/ hex bolts upgrade, I took the chance to fix the swashplate, put some 5-minute Locktite epoxy inside the plastic part where the ball bearing goes, put the ball bearing into it, and since them....it was a holy remedy, it hasn't come loose anymore.
Oh, I've gone through a little nightmare with this heli, first unbalanced blades, then a broken RX board, then swashplate ball bearing falling down, tail rotor loose, smacked tail boom by blades....now these legs broken.... What's next?...hehe.
