The rating on the pack 1400mah say, is the capacity and not the discharge rate. While it could discharge at that rate it can also discharge at a much lower or higher rate. The difference being how long the battery would supply power at the actual discharge rate. For example a battery rated at 4000mah will delive 4000 ma for 1 hour, 2000ma for 2 hours or 8000ma for 1/2 hour, etc.
The rating 1C describes the current that it takes to charge a battery in 1 hour. so for a 4000mah battery the 1C rate would be 4 amps.

Iknow how it works, I was just typing quickly and typed the word that came into my head. I also forgot the 'C' unit for charge rate, I should have mentioned that too. Anywayz, hopefully OP is now informed.
