All the heli reviews I read always seem to recommend checking the cooling fan/clutch shaft run out with a dial test indicator.

So, I finally went and got myself one and checked my Freya last night. The fan hub has a run out of 0.04mm (.0016") and the end of the shaft is 0.03mm (0.0012").

My questions are twofold:

1. Would you consider this to be an acceptable run out - and what is the maximum you would live with.

2. How does one go about reducing the run out? The fan hub mates with a tapered collar and the clutch shaft has not alignment mechanism.
