chip hyde cap 232
I have recently completed a hyde 232. It is a very nice kit for the money hands down a winner. The plane has a bme 44 with upgraded ignition and swings a 20/10 zoar or zinger pro with authority. On the last page of the instruction, yes on ocasion we must read them It has the contrel settings and the xpos and mixing for nice flight. I used what they called for for the balance......big mistake, It says 3.5 inches back from the tip of the wing so out comes the cg machine and damn I am one nose heavy mutha. so install 6 oz between the servos in the tail balances perfectly. second mistake......... this cg is wrong in the instruction...... it would snap would not glide oh yah 3/4 throttle landing with down trim very close to loing this beauty out the gate. I owe the save to fsone sim. I have just returned to rc about three months ago. and have the sime to brush up. after removing the weight from the tail it flew great, need some practice on the landing though, three flights two props later, this I am finding is the big cost of large models but a small price to pay for the addrenaline rush of getting one back when you shouldnt hope this helps someone else, also had to use some okie enginuity, the motor did the burbling no power due to the bleed hole in the wind, carb hanging out the cowl, installed a piece of velcro pad with the existing screws to the fuel pump cover, breathes fine but gives the nessasary wind block for the pump to do its job, also some of the first flight fun you know stalling snapping addrenaline pumping hands trembling that makes this hobby great,
Arf. great kit advise anyone who wants a entry 1/4 scale gas to get one.
