Default RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!

Arrow is the resident expert on the CNC head...PM him, he'll get back to you. As far as the direct drive on the tail, I'm actually having real good luck with the EP-0320 propeller and the modified stock CP gearbox. The heat sink gets WARM, the motor is cool after a full charge hover. It seems to be working out and I can always put an N30 on if I want so I have options. Actually, I like the direct drive system. It's response and hold are 10x better than stock. Like I said eariler...finding the right combination is the key, and it appears I have stumbled onto it. The weird part is, I had to ground the capacitor on the marked positive terminal and wired neg to pos terminal and pos to the neg terminal in order for it to work correctly. I'll see if I can post a pic here soon. It does work well....when you get it to work. I still say the bell was put on wrong so the polarity mark is indicating the wrong terminal.

Can I throw out a question.....?
If the reason for going to a DD tail is primarily motor life and motors fail 'cos of brushes.....would there be any problem about going brushless in the tail.....?
I'm back to stock in the tail but I did order a CNC dual motor mount this A.M. so I'll give that a try.
I have the mH head set up ready to go but the 3DX-300 V2 cnc head is giving me fits around the pitch control links...got some cogitating to do....Arrow...you have any closups of your rig you wouldn't mind sharing.....?
I work with geometry all and every day in my work and I know there's an optimum condition....just can't quite get there.
I'm reasonably knowledgeable 'bout most things but heli heads ain't one of them. The standard bell-hiller upfit for the CP is symmetrical about the pivot point of the links....the mH head has links that are not symmetrical and they are straight but the other head introduces an angle into the link and that's what's getting me.....'tis there for a purpose I'm not recognizing.
Is there a head guru out there to set me on the path to enlightenment.....?
