In the Ecelleron 90 forum (roughly 300+ posts) it was said that 7.5" was the CG that most everyone liked.

Recently I set an Excelleron .90 up for electric using a Hacker C50 10XL on 8S with an 18x12 prop. All up weight around 9 lbs. Plane sat in its box for a year because it looked like a difficult conversion, but once I got into it most bits fell into place.
The Bolly F3A uc came off on the first very gentle landing, and after repair also on the third landing. The balsa they used to brace the landing plate has the grain running the wrong way. We are now fibrglassing the fuel tank area to hold the uc plate on better. So far, not that I know much about pattern, this plane is proving fun to fly with what for me are pretty snaps.
However the way mine is setup it climbs a lot under power and needs a fair bit of down stick inverted. Trying to work out whether that's a cg or downthrust issue. So the questions are:
1 How much downthrust, if any, do I need and;
2 What's a good cg, right now at about 7 "
thanks
