i know on mine, the indicator has nothing to do with the battery

it just shows you on a scale of how good your glow plug is lighting up... if it is low on the meter than you need a new glow plug.. if it does it with a new plug then you need to recharge.. i usually just charge it like sunday night when i go to bed, and dont get it till the monring or after school.
