RE: FS One by Hangar 9
Michael,
You and Brian are a treasure trove of information here, covering a wide spectrum of questions to boot. I may not have bought FS One if it wasn't for the quality of information I read here (including the willingness to open aspects of the program to individual tweaking). This is a huge differentiator that the 'other guys' don't have from what I could see (the guys in the UK may be close though).... even though it is unofficial, it's great to have the insight you provide. If that's the case for me, I'm sure it's the same for many others. Understandably, you have a vested interest and pride in this sim, but official or unofficial, know that your help and patience is appreciated by 99.9%.
I hope your emphasis of the unofficial nature of info traded here doesn't imply that the mother ship is nervous about this unofficial train of discussion. It's to everybody's benefit IMHO. I agree that unconstructive criticism is just pointless and counter-productive, but some proportion will probably always be there. Regarding Ken's support forum comment, when I was researching the various sims, I had sent a couple of emails to Horizon and they eventually responded but I found my answers here much faster. Phoning them was a much faster route to getting the answers than emailing them. If Horizon sets up a forum, they'll have to be faster responding than they are in their email responses...otherwise the blogs will always be in front of them (I think the stock instant email response says they will respond in 2-3 days or something like that).
just my $.02,
Dave
