Hmm... got me thinking. I didn't have this before, when I started this experiment a year ago - same engine, same fuel. Adding the methanol works like increasing the fuel octane rating and slowind down the flame. Maybe I have pre-ignition now. For sure it is not the same "pinging" sound I had when I tried a fuel with 5% nitro.
