Bad day revisited.
Had a guy bring in a boat (full scale) with twin Cat 3116's. He lost a hose on one and dumped all the coolant at WOT. He reattached the hose and and proceeded to put water back in it. After putting 25 gallons in it and it still not being full, he realizhat his 8 gallon capacity had become a bottomless pit.
Damage:
Cracked exhaust manifold
Warped and cracked head
Shattered blades on turbo
Slightly melted aftercooler
1 bent push rod
Amazingly the bottom end is ok.
Here's a $15,000 bill for an overheat.
