There is no need to glue the tires to the hubs. I put about 200 landings on a set of 2.5" wheels on a paved runway. Needless to say, the tires were worn out when I replaced them and they were still quite difficult to remove from the rims. I have always used the Trim brake valve as well....I HIGHLY RECCOMNEND IT!! The Trim valve is the best kept secret in modeling.........
When I assemble the brakes, I smear a light coat of lithium grease on the O-ring and bushing. This keeps the brakes operating smoothly. I just serviced the brakes on my A-7 after 30 flights since the last cleaning and everything looks good....'Could have gone to 50 flights....................

Gotta agree with John,
Even with my other projects, I've used trim valves from Ed. No leaks, reliable operation, decent consumption...
Only thing I do differently is to use Parker o-ring lubricant on the o-rings and in the o-ring grooves, as apposed to his lithium grease, and I do it once every year or so. That's probably an arbitrary detail though...
