Took it off...the main is brand new. As things go bad, people make adjustments to compensate (see servo bind/glitch). I adjusted the servos so they will not bind but at max current draw, the 3-1 will disarm...I know that's not right. They don't disarm in a crash. Just by the nature of disarming, this would be the most likely cause of not getting enough juice to the motor. If I do a highpower in my hand observing servos and all...collective is working fine so it's not the radio....I've been wrong before (didn't I say that?).

Mrasmm,
Excellent find on the Blades, I never would have thought that deformed blades would cause a motor to overheat..
Put that in the WIKI, Crashcrash said it a while back, when you think you might know what the problem is, it could be a 100 other things, causing it.

lol, I thought I mighta spoke too soon without doing a test flight first. I was just excited that I had found something pretty tangible. I did a flight test this morning, and here are the stats. Cutt Off voltage 10v under load 11.059v OC, ambient temp 59F, batt temp 89, batt used 1250(#1) CSRC, and I only put 659mAh with balance back into the pack =(, flight time 9 min and change, ending motor temp 122F.
I just did another test flight, and 75F ambient, cutt off under load 10v OC 11.183, flight time 9 min and change, batt used CSRC 1250(#2), ending batt temp 103, ending main motor temp 137 =(, dunno how much put back into the pack, it's on the charger now.
hrm.... these should be 18 min packs too =(
The heli has decent climb out right from a fresh pack, or if I let the heli sit for about 60 seconds at around 4 or 5 feet per second, but if I have been flying for a while, climbout is like 1/2 foot per second, and when I have been flying almost the whole pack it's basically nill, it will only hover. The weird thing is though if I let it sit for about 10 sec, it will pop right back up in the air with a climb out of about 3 or 4 feet per second.
BAH!! back in the bat game =P I'm thinking it has to be the 3 in 1. I went into the LHS today and they were realyl pretty nice, but didn't really have anything to offer as far as advice except maybe e-mailing horizon. They said they might have a better chance of helping. Also I was thinking about getting some new main bearings (are they the 2.5mm or the 3.0mm? I'm thinking the main ones are the 2.5mm... that's another thing... this heli has 10 bearings, 8 of them are the 3mm, and 2 or 2.5mm.... shesh... what's it take to just make them all 3.0mm?), and looking at the 3 in 1. Their parts were really picked over though, and they didn't even have a new main motor =P must be heli season.
Crash, sounds like your having almost identical troubles to me... I agree with you, this is frustrating, and almost makes you want to throw in the towel. I mean when the problem is straighforward and you know what you need to do, fie, bring it on =), but this batty stuff of guessing what's going on is for the birds =) Are your battery packs lasting short, and/or is your main motor getting hot too?
Anyways, are you going to be getting a new 3 in 1 then? If so how soon are you going to be getting it? Maybe if it solves it for you I should really look into it.
