My sister is on ssi and has been for some time she was living with my mon and dad and then bought a house on a program that was backed buy the goverment, now I live in philadelphia and there is a program for low and fixed incomes you can get 25,000 at 2% if you put half into your house to fix up. I will talk to my sis later and find out some more info, she also went to collage under a disability act. she was hit by a drunk driver back in 1990 and is partially paralyzed she never gave up and fights like a pittball. She had to apply for some things more then once.
