About it being too wide, not wide enough: remember, you only want to give a "sniff" of any sort of demarcation between panels. Remember, it is just a line. Have it too wide and it would be a gap [sm=confused_smile.gif] instead of a line.
In most threads I've read, you generally just lay the tape down, then primer over it (2 coats?)then remove it and then sand down to virtually nothing.
