Default Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) for after run and storage?

Using after run oil is a waste of time and money, in my opinion; especially with our modern commercial fuel blends. I've never used it, and none of my engines have ever suffered from it in the least. No gumming, no bearing rust; no problems at all.

As for long term storage, I flush with lacquer thinner, then oil with a 50/50 blend of ATF and plain MMO (read it in a magazine somewhere). Engines done like this have come out of storage after 10 years or so clean and free as new.

Havn't seen any new "evidence" yet that will change my mind.
