A clocking device hitting the wheels of a Savage with a 3speed transmission, 20T/47T CB/spur combo and 6in diameter wheels would would read about twice the actual vehicle speed. That means if you have a radar or laser that reads 70MPH clocked the surface of the wheels. The actual speed of the Savage is about 35MPH. 60MPH? More like 30MPH since the wheels are so easy to clock on a frontal run (the Savage coming at you). The wheels at a frontal Savage profile is actaually a very large area, anywhere from a third to a half of the frontal profile is strctly the moving wheels.
