Default RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

finally got my 33 running on gas/glow this morning. It has a great top end, a low idle, but no transition. In fact, to get any immediate transition at all, I have to run the low needle ridiculously rich (about 4 rounds). Then it loads up at idle. It's a walbro carb, and it transitioned well on gas/oil at around 2 rounds out. Any suggestions?
