congrats Kodges, on your fisrt flight. plane sure looks great. did you use an 18/6 prop ? if so how did it work out. I have the stock ARF with the G 26 ,with a 16/8 and it gives all I want.
Thanks much; I'm finally breathing again

. I am using an 18-6, and it seems to be the right one for me. The extra weight I'm carrying from the "stock" ARF can use the additional thrust from two more inches in diameter. What kind of rpm's do you turn with the 16 incher? I haven't accurately tached my engine yet, but I am really turning the revs, enough that I'm considering trying a 20 inch prop. My buddy Steve, who "held my hand" while I flew this yesterday, suggested trying an 18-8, but I don't think I need the extra speed. I was moving along at a pretty good clip as it was, and the plane slows very well when you cut the throttle. On second thought, forget the 20 incher. I'll stick with what I have, it seemed to work. I changed a bunch of my control throws (decreased them) and added a tad more expo. I still need to readjust my throttle throws to get less butterfly movement in the first half of my stick. Right now I'm at half throttle, rpm-wise, with the stick at about the 1/4 position. The DX-7 doesn't have expo available for throttle, you have to play with the end point adjustments. I'd like to get it set so I have a lot of fine control in the lower half of the rpm range.
Have you got many flights in yet with yours? What are you learning about its flight characteristics? Anything funky or squirelly?
