one of the important things about drifting is the differentials...

I recommend locking your rear differential. Once you get ABS or PVC on the wheels, or you get 1/10 wheel adapters with some sort of drifting tire on them, lock the rear differential and then start playing around with it... you'll start to get a feel for what other adjustments might need to be made after that.
