I've been flying glow for 7 years and now considering buying my first gas engine. I've had my eye on the GP Giant Aeromaster for sometime now. Tower recommends a 30-60CC engine. There's a lot of good information and happy R/C'ers flying the Brillelli engine. I'm a bit confused with the sizes though. Which Brillelli would you recommend? Also,,,,can someone please explain ignition to me. How does it get started?
I have flown the kit built version extensively .... first with a Zenoah G-45 that was later changed to a G-62. These planes have an incredible amount of drag, even for a biplane so the G-62 version is anything but overpowered. These airplanes like a big, low pitched prop for best performance and it takes cubic inches to turn such a prop. My vote would be for a G-62 in any version or as was asked, the Brilleli 366 would seem perfect. Certainly any good 50 would also work well ... just depends on what kind of vertical performance you want. Regardless of engine choice, you will have a very pleasant flying biplane that is anything but fast.
