RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!
Hello All!
I hope my southern neighbours are enjoying thier long weekend! Up north here we had ours last week, so this is just a regular weekend for us. Even though it's a regular weekend, we're getting some really nice weather. Today we've had a pretty decent day, with a bit of wind... enough to make the Blade zip up or down 5-10 feet if you hit the right angle.
After dinner, I managed to pack the family up and head to the soccer field for a bit of stick time. Tried to get the wife to shoot some video from a different perspective - zoom out a bit more to show speed, and height as well as flying. Managed to get a half hour or so of footage, and put together a [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx1G1VL3fjc]5 minute video[/link]. I'm not sure what I like better - the close up shots, the far back shots or an equal mix.... I was never very good at the "production gig".
At any rate, the Blade is working awesome - still on the first set of motors. I'm glad I'm off those wood blades. The carbon fiber blades perform much better... I just have to keep away from the fence and anything else that might shatter them. I got a bit close to a light post tonight. They also make a better sound when you make a sharp turn over your head.... you can really hear them dig in.
One thing I did notice, is that the stock motor does seem to lack power at times. Sometimes I want to climb out fast as I'm drifting, or being pushed into the deck by the wind, and punching the throttle, and/or collective just seems "soft" at times. Maybe I need to start flying the CP Pro and set the CP on the shelf for a while and see how much of a difference it is. I've been trying to stick with one or two helis while learning, as it's easier to repair one or two than have them all busted up.
It's nice to hear some of you guys are progressing and getting in some stick time this weekend. Sorry to hear you're still having problems Crash... I know you'll get them worked out.
