perfect example AMA at work

Little Crank says:
Maybe somehow this has become a point of confusion for some but I really don't know how or why. So I will try to be crystal clear. I have absolutely no problem with the cost of AMA. Matter of fact I think we have a great arrangement as it stands now(key word) as far as costs are concerned. I pay my dues gladly and even give more. I have never posted or said anything that indicates I have any problem with the costs involved in regards to AMA. Matter of fact although I support the AMA I do not NEED their secondary insurance, since I am well insurance otherwise, other than to participate(AMA mandate) nor do I NEED AMA so that I will have somewhere to fly either.
I usually(VERY key word) enjoy sharing the hobby with other modelers and only hope to find more ways in which to include as many as possible and desire the continued good health of the AMA for centuries to come. I really can't understand what is so wrong with my views but somehow others find them threatening for what ever reasons. I have always considered my viewpoints to parallel the AMA in essence and spirit but somehow others can't seem to see that! OR maybe they resent that fact. Hard to tell.
I just don't know. I live in a world where things can always be improved upon. What about you guys?

Little Crank, we may have our differences, however I well understand your above statements.
BTDT for some 30 years now.
To me LOYALTY belongs to the TRUE, Better, and Right, not to some individual, organizational management, and/or whatever.
I, too, have more primary liability insurance than AMA's total provision. I have adequate property for flying RC although I prefer club activity.
I support AMA with donations, (page 154 Apr. MA) which sometimes get *LOST* and require investigation into why the listing was omitted from the proper time. Yet I do not NEED AMA, and I could live without it.
The NEED for AMA is UNLIKE the excess weight I carry. While I don't need either, the loss of the weight would make me feel much better, where the loss of AMA would definitely HURT my social life and make me feel badly.
Since the AMA, as an organization defined in the Bylaws, is definitely a plus, the entire management team is to me -- to me -- definitely less than my desired choices.
Unfortunately, in this society there are many persons that cannot see the forest with so many trees in the view. If one questions the organization, then they consider that one as definitely a candidate for the fire at the stake.
While those that don't care to accept all the dog feces handed to them will forever be branded by the goose-steppers as undesirables, I suppose some of us will forever be undesirable. The brain-washed (not nessarily meaning washed to clean) goose-steppers will always accept whatever is handed them as heavenly sent. For me, they make their bed, it's theirs to sleep in.
OTOH, I do have a problem with sleeping in the same type bed. So, keep expounding.
