I use Denatured Alcohol to clean the parts. On the exhasut valve you have to remove it from the head. The I use an x-acto #11 blade to scrape it off. I'm careful not to damage the seat area on the valve...The blade is held at a sharp angle and the carbon is just scraped off. It will come off very easy...like I said the fuel I use leaves very very little...Some other fuels leave a ton of thick gunk on there. Sometimes its so hard you can't get it off. In this case you need to choose a better fuel.
