The castor in the oil content lubricates the high temperature ABC/N engines better than straight synthetic.

As for "bad" fuel, I don't think there's any on the market today. If it's bad, word would quickly get around and they wouldn't have any customers. However, certain types of fuel are made for certain applications, and the buyer or LHS clerk should be aware of that.
