Default RE: FOX COMPOSITES Bae HAWK, Build thread

ORIGINAL: Chris-DC5

The model was flying in a slight shallow dive when i went to pull out there was a total lack of elevator responce and the model went into the ground.

After much thought and consideration it turns out that the Elevator servo was not powerful enough even ay 8.5kg@10mm.

The instructions say to use a 8kg servo or more so i thought that 8.5kg wouls have been good enough.

Many thanks,

Chris.
Chris, I think the 8kg servo is fine on the AMD hawk. From what I've seen it's the linkage which is the root of the problems. Thing is the standard linkage fitted to the aly joiner calls for atv's to be used and this reduces the power of the servo. The threaded rod needs extending to solve this.Ive lost count how many ive seen go in or nearly go in because of this problem.
