I agreed with this at first, but then I thought, a 60 normally runs an 11x7, I surpose its not too far out for a 55, you could step the diameter down to 12 if the engine wont peek out.

Tape is a good idea, I have never had this problem. It's nice to get a solution before the problem for once.
